In just under three weeks the UK’s festival season will rumble into life in a spectacular weekend of fire, industrial machinery and a plenty of bass, all courtesy of one of the most innovative live show curators in the country. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, Arcadia will host its biggest stand-alone event yet, at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park over the first May bank holiday weekend.
The line-up features a selection of dance music’s finest including Leftfield, Sven Vath, Groove Armada, Eats Everything, Rudimental, Noisia and TQD, with performances taking place over two otherworldly stages. The Spider, which has become so synonymous with Arcadia will deliver its Metamorphosis show as artists perform from its mechanical heart. Expect an immersive theatre experience complete with aerial circus acts suspended from the 50-tonne, fire-breathing machine.
The second stage is the Reactor, a brand new indoor arena featuring a laser installation that promises to transform the space into a geometric matrix, with performers flying overhead. Artists perform from the Reactor’s core, a 360 degree pod built from parts collected on the road during the collective’s travels from New Zealand to Burning Man. If the iconic Spider is anything to go by, this new stage will be unmissable.
Arcadia London takes place 5th & 6th May. Tickets on sale now from £52 here. For a taster of what to expect check out the video below.
