Sargasso Trio – Living Without You

Posted by - June 6, 2011 - Music

Despite the name, Norwich’s Sargasso Trio are actually a foursome. Breaking genre conventions, Ben Winn, Pete Murdoch, Emily Siddall and James Leeds mix acoustic folk with indie rock, samba, 80s synth beats and synth pop to create their unique and eclectic sound. Sharing vocal duties and alternating instrumentation with guitars, drums, keyboards, samples or saucepans, bottles or customised rhythm shoes, each track offers something new.

To help promote their second album Get To Grips, Sargasso Trio are giving away an exclusive download, Living Without You, as a taster of things to come. The track was recorded by the prolific David Pye (Wild Beasts, Faithless) in the depths of Norfolk’s countryside at Leeders Farm where renowned artists such as Seasick Steve, Arctic Monkeys and Nick Cave have all made records. If the download isn’t enough you can stream tracks form the album on the band’s myspace here.

Dinner the first single from the album is out 20th June.

Get To Grips is out 18th July.

You can download Living Without You for free here.
